But then again, I can think of only one exception…like when your trying to get rid of someone who just won’t go.

I really don’t understand why people cheat honestly because you can just leave the person and be with whom ever you want to be with. I just don’t see the point of putting yourself through unnecessary drama. But that’s just my take on the situation…what’s yours?

I really don’t understand why everyone is so wrapped up in what other people are doing in their lives…from Tiger Woods cheating on his wife to Rihanna’s new song S&M. I mean really what business is it of yours anyway? Do you have a life of your own?

Why is it that you are so concerned with events that don’t effect you? I just don’t understand. I believe only miserable people have the time to devote to worrying about other people’s business. Get a grip…get a life, seriously!

The interesting thing is that it’s not only limited to “famous” people, these same miserable people are sticking their noses into the lives of people close to them as well, and it cracks me up that they only have negative things to say.

You need to get to the root of whatever choices you made in your life that are the cause of you being so unhappy. Then you need to work through them and learn how to let other people be happy in spite of your bad decisions.

And this is why I wanna slap somebody all the time cause you all just don’t make any sense.

Or Do You Wish You Could Work from Home, But Can’t Afford It?

Your family deserves the opportunity to meet with other moms who are Stayin’ Home and Lovin’ It! There is a risk-free way for you to earn extra money from home each month with a proven support system and solid business venture.

* No obligation * No sales parties required

* No inventory to manage * Not a Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) endeavor

IS YOUR WORKPLACE, SCHOOL, OR HOME A TOXIC CHEMICAL WASTE DUMP?

The Average American Uses about 25 Gallons of “TOXIC” , “HAZARDOUS” Chemical Products
per year in their Home…
A Major Portion Of These Can Be Found In Household Cleaning Products.
(Source: Prosperity Without Pollution,
by Joel S. Hirschorn and Kirsten V. Oldenburg, 1991).

Nationwide, more than 32 million pounds of household cleaning products are poured down the drain each day. Many of these products contain toxic substances that are NOT processed adequately by sewage treatment plants or septic systems. Careless or improper use and disposal of these products may threaten individual health or lead to accidental poisoning. Long term or cumulative environmental consequences may also occur like contamination of surface and ground water. ( Spring 2002 Edition of CCA Newsletter Partners :”CLEANING WITHOUT TOXIC CHEMICALS”–http://www.dhr.state.md.us/cca/pdfs/spr02b.pdf )

According to the MAY 2002 issue of the cleaning trade magazine–
“CM Cleaning & Maintenance Management magazine”–
( National Trade Publications, Latham, New York, 12110 ),
an article entitled, “GREEN Cleaning Gets A Federal Push”, clearly states on page 51 :
“…Cleaning Chemicals Are The Most Frequent Type Of Chemicals Involved In Poisonings
Reported To ‘Poison Control Centers’ In The United States.”.

“In 1999, 92% Of All Poisonings Occurred In The Home.Cleaning Products Are Involved In 11% Of Poisoning Exposure In Children Under 6 Years Of Age.”
( Source: City of Boulder-Office of Environmental Affairs )

DID YOU KNOW ?
# THAT OF THE 17,OOO CHEMICALS THAT APPEAR IN COMMON HOUSEHOLD PRODUCTS,
ONLY 30% HAVE BEEN ADEQUATELY TESTED FOR THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS ON OUR HEALTH .

# THE FEDERAL ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ( E.P.A. ) HAS FOUND THAT AIRBORNE CHEMICAL LEVELS IN HOMES WERE AS MUCH AS SEVENTY ( 70 ) TIMES HIGHER INSIDE THAN OUTSIDE .

# THE FEDERAL FOOD & DRUG ADMINISTRATION ( F.D.A. ) CANNOT REQUIRE COMPANIES TO DO SAFETY TESTING ON THEIR PERSONAL CARE PRODUCTS BEFORE THEY ARE SOLD TO THE PUBLIC .

# MEDICAL DOCTORS AND SCIENTISTS HAVE STUDIED, ANALYZED, EVALUATED, AND CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS A DEFINITIVE CONNECTION BETWEEN OUR HEALTH AND
THE USE OF EVERYDAY COMMON HOUSEHOLD CLEANING CHEMICALS .

…AND THERE’S MORE !
( About The Hazards Of Household Cleaning Products )

# INDOOR AIR IS OFTEN TWO TO FIVE TIMES MORE CONTAMINATED THAN OUTDOOR AIR .

# CHILDHOOD ASTHMA HAS NEARLY DOUBLED IN THE LAST 20 YEARS (American Lung Assoc.)…
And Some Cleaners May Be Triggers To Asthma Attacks.

# 70,000 SYNTHENTIC CHEMICALS ARE IN PRODUCTION TODAY. MANY ARE SUSPECTED TO CAUSE CANCER OR OTHER HEALTH EFFECTS,…BUT ONLY 600 HAVE BEEN ADEQUATELY TESTED.

# ENVIRONMENTAL DISCOMFORTS AND ILLNESSES are increasing at alarming rates

# 15-25% OF OUR POPULATION HAS SOME TYPE OF BREATHING PROBLEMS such as hay fever or asthma, and are adversely affected by strong odors included in perfume, aftershave, hair spray and body lotions

# 9 OUT OF 10 BREATHS are likely drawn indoors

# THERE WAS A 38% INCREASE IN PRESCRIPTIONS FOR AIRWAY MEDICATIONS from 1985 to 1990

# THERE ARE APPROX. 4,000 INDIVIDUAL FRAGRANCE COMPOUNDS – several hundred may be used in creating a single scent

# 17-22% OF PEOPLE SUFFER FROM FRAGRANCE-RELATED MIGRAINE HEADACHES

# ADVERSE REACTIONS FROM SCENTED PRODUCTS result in sick time, lost productivity, increased insurance costs and hostility from employers and employees who do not understand the health threats of fragrances. Chemically sensitive individuals cannot simply avoid fragrances…they share air in which they have no control over.

Environmental Protection Agency
studies have shown that indoorair pollutants are
3 to 70 times higher than outdoors.

The following information came from a conference call with Kay Heizer, Director of “Healthy Choices” (a non-profit organization comprised of doctors, nurses, environmental scientists and educators committed to teaching the public about the hazards of chemicals in our home and how we can avoid or minimize the risks):

50% of all illness is due to poor indoor air quality[Source: 1989 State of Massachusetts Study]

Ø Since 1950, at least 70,000 new chemical compounds have been invented and dispersed into our environment. Only a fraction of these have been tested for human toxicity. We are, by default, conducting a massive clinical toxicology trial, and our children and their children are the experimental animals. [Source: Herbert L. Needleman, M.D., Philip J. Landrigan, M.D., Raising Children Toxic Free]

150 Chemicals found in the home are connected to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological disorders. [Source: Consumer Protection Agency (CPA)]

The United States of America Federal Code of Regulations exempts manufacturers from full labeling of products if used for personal, family or household care. [Source USA FCR: Section 1910.1200C, Title 29, Section 1500.82 2Q1A]

Ø 3 groups of people are primarily affected by indoor chemical concentrations because they spend more time indoors and their immune systems are weaker. The 3 groups are:

· Infants and toddlers

· Chronically ill

· Elderly

[Source: 1988 EPA, 5-year study]

Ø In 1901, cancer was rare: 1 out of 8,000. Since the Industrial Revolution, the cancer rate today has risen to 1 in 3 and by the year 2002, it will be 1 in 2. [Source: The American Cancer Society]

Ø The top 12 cancer-causing products(called the “Dirty Dozen”) in the average home include the following:

· Johnson & Johnson Baby Powder w/Talc

· Crest Tartar Control Toothpaste

· VO5 Hair Conditioner

· Clairol Nice-n-Easy Hair Color

· AjaxCleanser

· Lysol Disinfectant

[Source: The National Cancer Prevention Coalition]

Liquid dish soap is the leading cause of poisonings in the home for children under the age of six (over 2.1 million accidental poisonings per year). Most brands of liquid dish soap contain formaldehyde and ammonia.

Ø Of 2,983 chemicals found in personal care products:

· 884 are toxic

· 146 cause tumors

· 218 cause reproductive complications

· 778 cause acute toxicity

· 314 cause biological mutations

· 376 cause skin and eye irritations

[Source: United States House of Representatives Report, 1989]

Ø The State of California recently passed legislation requiring a 45% reduction in the amount of toxins found in:

· Hairspray aerosols

· Furniture polish

· Window cleaners

· Air fresheners

· Shaving cream

· Laundry detergents

· Nail polish remover

· Insect repellent

· Hair styling gel and mousse

[Source: Healthy Homes in a Toxic World]

Ø Out of 2,435 pesticide poisonings in a one-year period, over 40% were due to exposure to disinfectants and similar cleaning products in the home. [Source: State of California Study]

Ø Just by reducing (not eliminating) environmental carcinogens alone, we would save at least 50,000 lives taken by cancer annually. [Source: Dr. Lee Davis, former advisor to the Secretary of Health]

Ø Most laundry detergent contains a form of NTA. NTA is a substance we may reasonably anticipate to be a carcinogen. [Source: The Merck Index]

Ø Household bleaches which claim to disinfect are classified as pesticides under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. Inadvertently mixing bleach with other cleaners that contain ammonia produces a toxic chloramines gas. These toxic gases can cause coughing, loss of voice, a feeling of burning or suffocation, and even death. [Source: Guide to Hazardous Products Around the Home, Household Hazardous Waste Project, 1989]

Ø Women who work in the home have a 54% higher death rate from cancer than women who work outside of the home. [Source: 17- year EPA study]

Ø 150 chemicals found in the home have been connected to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological disorders. [Source: The Consumer Protection Agency)

Ø As more toxic chemicals have been introduced to our everyday environment in greater amounts over the last 20 to 30 years, the level of toxins stored in adipose tissues (fat cells) of our bodies have risen. Bioaccumulation studies have shown that some toxins store in our bodies for life. Greater and greater amounts are being stored at younger ages. One study showed that in the fat of 100% of the people tested was 1,4-Dichlorobenzene, a chemical found in most household deodorizers and room fresheners.

Ø Diseases that used to occur later in life are now appearing at younger ages. Diseases that used to be rare are more frequent. For example: There has been a 28% increase in childhood cancer since the addition of pesticides into household products. Cancer is now the #2 killer of children – second only to accidental poisonings. Since 1977 the rate of cancer among American children has been steadily rising at a rate of nearly 1% each year. [Source: National Cancer Institute]

· There is an increased risk for leukemia in children where parents have used pesticides in the home or garden before the child’s birth. [Source: Journal of the National Cancer Institute]

Ø Some products release contaminants into the air right away, others do so gradually over a period of time. Some stay in the air up to a year. These contaminants, found in many household and personal care products can cause dizziness, nausea, allergic reactions, eye/skin/respiratory tract irritations and some cause cancer. [American Lung Association]

Ø Asthma was once a very rare disease. Now the condition is extremely common – the asthma rate has tripled in the last 20 years with nearly 30 million Americans currently afflicted. [Source: Consumer Federation of America , 1997]

Ø In one decade, there has been a 42% increase in asthma (29% for men, 82% for women). The higher rate for women is believed to be due to women’s longer exposure times to household chemicals. [Source: Center for Disease Control]

Ø Childhood asthma has increased by more than 40% since 1980. [Source: Environmental Health Perspectives, June 1997; 105 (6)]

Ø Asthma death in children and young people increased by a dramatic 118% between 1980 and 1993. [Source: Environmental Health Threats to Children, Environmental Protection Agency 175-F-96-001, September 1996]

Ø The average child visits the doctor 23 times in the 1st 4 years of life, with the most common complaint being respiratory ailment. [Source: National Center for Health Statistics, 1997]

Ø Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) in adults and children is also rising – in 1993, 4.5 million children took the drug Ritalin so they could sit still long enough to learn. By 1998, 11.4 million children were being drugged with this powerful Class-2 narcotic. [Source: Your Children and Ritalin, The Detroit news (March 8. 1998)]

Ø Even small doses of neurotoxins, which would be harmless to an adult, can alter a child’s nervous system development. [Source: Environmental Health Perspectives 106 Supplement 3:787-794 (June 1998)]

Developing cells in children’s bodies are more susceptible to damage than adult cells that have completed development, especially for the central nervous system. During the development of a child, from conception through adolescence, there are particular windows of vulnerability to environmental hazards. Most disturbing – until a child is approximately 13 months of age, they are virtually no ability to fight the biological and neurological effects of toxic chemicals. [Source: Herbert L. Needleman, M.D., Philip J. Landrigan, M.D., Raising Children Toxic Free]

Ø Today, children have chemical exposures from birth that their parents didn’t have until they were adults. Because children are exposed to toxics at an earlier age than adults, they have more time to develop environmentally triggered diseases, with long latency periods, such as cancer. [Source: Environmental Policy and Children’s Health, Future of Children, Summer/Fall 1995; 5(2): 34-52]

Ø Formaldehyde is a highly toxic substance. It is a highly suspected cancer-causing agent. It damages the neurological connectors in the body. It is an irritant to the eyes, nose, throat and lungs and may cause:

· skin reactions

· ear infections

· headaches

· depression

· asthma

· joint pain

· dizziness

· mental confusion

· nausea

· disorientation

· phlebitis

· fatigue

· vomiting

· sleep disturbances

· laryngitis

Ø One in five people are sensitive to formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is commonly found in:

· drugs

· mouthwash

· hairspray

· cosmetics

· cleaning products

· perfumes

· waxes

· hair setting lotions

· shampoo

· air fresheners

· fungicides

· fingernail polish

· floor polishes

· dry cleaning solvents

· toothpaste

· laundry spray starch

· antiperspirants

· … just to name a few

DO YOU STILL WANT TO USE PRODUCTS IN YOUR HOME THAT CONTAIN FORMALDEHYDE?

Ø Due to the increase in toxic buildup in our bodies, including the toxic buildup of formaldehyde, dead bodies are not decomposing as fast as they used to.

· Bodies now start to decompose within 7 to 10 days after death.

· During the Vietnam War, Vietnamese bodies started to decompose within 24 to 48 hours. However, Americans didn’t start to decompose for 4 to 5 days.

· Twice as much formaldehyde was needed to embalm a person 20 years ago compared to today.

How many of these names would you have recognized as formaldehyde?

· Formalin

· Methanal

· Methyl Aldehyde

· Methylene Oxide

· Oxymethylene

· Bfv*

· Fannoform*

· Formol*

· Fyde*

· Karsan*

· Methaldehyde

· Formalith*

· Methylene Glycol

· Ivalon*

· Oxomethane

· Formalin 40

· Formalin

· Formic Aldehyde

· Hoch

· Paraform

· Lysoform*

· Morbocid

· Trioxane

· Polyoxmethylene

* denotes trade name

Ø The following products are just a few that are so toxic that they should be disposed of in a toxic waste dump:

· floor care products

· furniture polish

· window cleaners

· bug spray

· nail polish remover

[Source: Water Pollution Control Federation]

Ø Warning labels on containers refer only to toxic hazards from ingestion; however, only 10% of health problems from chemicals are caused by ingestion. 90% are caused by the inhalation of vapors and absorption of particles.

Ø Government regulations require that only the most EXTREMELY toxic substances must contain a warning label. Labels that say the following should be removed from your house immediately:

· “Do not induce vomiting”

· “Corrosive – rinse from skin immediately”

· “Harmful or fatal if swallowed”

· “Call physician immediately”

· “Warning!” (may mean that as little as 1 teaspoon of product can harm or kill adult)

· “Danger!” (means that as little as 5 drops can harm or kill an adult)

Ø Phenolis an extremely caustic chemical that burns the skin. Absorption of phenol through the lungs or skin can cause:

· central nervous system damage

· pneumonia

· respiratory tract infection

· heart-rate irregularities

· skin irritation

· kidney and liver damage

· numbness

· vomiting

· and can be fatal

Ø Phenolis a very common chemical and is regularly found in the following common products:

· air fresheners

· aftershave

· bronchial mists

· chloroseptic throat spray

· deodorants

· feminine powders & sprays

· hair spray

· decongestants

· mouthwash

· aspirin

· solvents

· acne medications

· antiseptics

· calamine lotions

· cleaning products

· detergents

· furniture polish

· hair setting lotions

· lice shampoo

· polishes

· cold capsules

· all-purpose cleaners

· aerosol disinfectants

Why cancer’s gaining on us

By Rita Arditti

October 27, 2008

FOR ALL the pink ribbons, breast-cancer awareness events, fund-raisers, and celebrations of “survivorship,” the facts remain grim. In this country, a woman’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is one in eight. In 1975, the risk was about one in 11.

Outside of skin cancer, breast cancer is the most frequently diagnosed cancer in women. It is estimated that in 2008 there will be 250,230 new cases of breast cancer among women. An estimated 41,000 women will die of metastatic breast cancer in 2008. Because we still do not know what the causes of breast cancer are, primary prevention remains an elusive goal while mammography and early detection are the focus of attention.

Since World War II, the proliferation of synthetic chemicals has gone hand-in-hand with the increased incidence of breast cancer. About 80,000 synthetic chemicals are used today in the United States, and their number increases by about 1,000 each year. Only about 7 percent of them have been screened for their health effects. These chemicals can persist in the environment and accumulate in our bodies. According to a recent review by the Silent Spring Institute in Newton, 216 chemicals and radiation sources cause breast cancer in animals.

Nearly all of the chemicals cause mutations, and most cause tumors in multiple organs and animal species, findings that are generally believed to indicate they likely cause cancer in humans. Yet few have been closely studied by regulatory bodies. There is concern about benzene, which is in gasoline; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, which are in air pollution from vehicle exhaust, tobacco smoke, and charred foods; ethylene oxide, which is widely used in medical settings; and methylene chloride, a common solvent in paint strippers and glues.

There is also broad agreement that exposure over time to natural estrogens in the body increases the risk of breast cancer, so it is important to consider the role of synthetic estrogens in breast cancer development. Many other chemicals, especially endocrine-disrupting compounds – chemicals that affect hormones, such as the ubiquitous bisphenol A, which is found in plastic bottles and cans – are also thought to raise breast cancer risk. Endocrine-disrupting compounds are present in many pesticides, fuels, plastics, air pollution, detergents, industrial solvents, tobacco smoke, prescription drugs, food additives, metals, and personal-care products including sunscreens.

Is there definitive evidence that these substances cause breast cancer? Have they been sufficiently studied? Well, no. We need to know more about the timing, duration, and patterns of exposure, which may be as important as dosage. But shouldn’t we do everything possible to reduce exposure to the suspected chemicals? Shouldn’t we take precautionary measures, as we continue and deepen the research? In Massachusetts, the leading cause of death in 2006 was cancer. It is time for action.

In our state, the Alliance for a Healthy Tomorrow, a coalition of more than 160 organizations, has worked for the passage of the Safer Alternatives Bill, which would create a program to replace toxic chemicals with safer alternatives when feasible. The bill would establish a pragmatic, gradual approach to reducing health impacts from many of the toxic chemicals that we are exposed to in everyday life. The bill passed the Senate unanimously this year, but was not voted on by the House. The alliance will introduce it again in the 2009 legislative session.

Yes, we need early detection but also primary prevention, and, of course, effective treatments for those of us with extended disease. Rachel Carson, who herself died of breast cancer in 1964, said it best: “For those in whom [cancer] is already a hidden or a visible presence, efforts to find cures must of course continue. But for those not yet touched by the disease and certainly for the generations as yet unborn, prevention is the imperative need.”

Rita Arditti is one of the founders of the Cambridge-based Women’s Community Cancer Project, a grassroots organization committed to cancer prevention. She has been living with metastatic breast cancer since 1979.

It is truly better to give than to receive and with this being the gift giving season what better gift can we give our children than our time and attention. I know that with the economy being what it is a lot of us are struggling just to make ends meet and with the upcoming season the stress is just piling up but what if you could ease the pressure, spend more time with your kids, end your money worries and make your home a safer, greener environment all at the same time? What would that mean to you & your family?

Let me tell you what it means to me: I work with a team that is doing just that. I have grown my income substantially, I no longer have to collect unemployment checks (they weren’t paying the bills anyway), I no longer have to struggle to survive, I can be home to supervise my teenagers and I can relax and spend time with my husband.

I’m not going to entice you with pictures of fancy cars and big houses because I honestly don’t have those things. What I do have is an honest, ethical, healthy business that allows me to work from home and replace my income from my former job of regional property management.

I would love to give you the gift of success and freedom that I have been given. I would love to help you realize your dreams and celebrate your accomplishments with you. Please accept this gift from me and let me help you build your success. Visit: http://wahu4yourfreedom and request more information or email me at vera@wahu4yourfreedom with your name, number, time zone and the best time to reach you. I will contact you once I receive your information so that I can help you on your journey to freedom.

I can’t stand it when I place an ad online and I get spam replies. What makes people think that if you are advertising a business or service that you want your inbox full of spam advertisements that you aren’t interested in and didn’t ask for. They always say something stupid like I see that you’re serious about advertising your business – here signup for my business, yada, yada, yada.

This PISSES ME OFF! I don’t place ads that say “PLEASE SEND ME YOUR CRAP” so why people constantly feel the need to do so I’ll never understand. What’s even more crazy is that these people either don’t realize or don’t care how much of your time they are wasting with this activity. If they spent less time spamming people and more time on effective advertising (pay for it like we do) they might be more successful.

At any rate I really wish they would stop sending me their advertisements. When will they realize that people who want their products or services are actually looking for them and the ads we place state in very plain English exactly what WE ARE looking for and it’s not what ever they have. There is no mystery so they know we are not looking for their crap! I have a message to all of those who practice this form of “advertising”… STOP SENDING ME YOUR STUPID SPAM!!!!!!! I didn’t ask for it and I don’t want it!

Supermarket suspends sale of Johnson products amid debate
BEIJING – A major Chinese supermarket chain pulled baby products made by US-based health care giant Johnson & Johnson from its shelves Monday after allegations that the products contain carcinogens.

Shanghai-based Nonggongshan Supermarkets Corp., which operates 3,500 stores in eastern China, pulled the products in response to a debate over the products’ safety.

“We have to be responsible to consumers and suspend sales of these products until they are proved safe,” said Gan Pingzhong, quality supervision department manager of Nonggongshang.

Many Chinese have expressed concern on the Internet since the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, a non-profit US organization, issued an online report on March 12, saying it had found “dozens of top-selling children’s bath products are contaminated with the cancer-causing chemicals formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane.”
The organization said it tested 48 products from 22 companies for 1,4-dioxane, which is used as a solvent in chemical manufacturing. It also tested 28 of those products for formaldehyde.

According to the US National Cancer Institute, formaldehyde is used to make building materials such as plywood, as a preservative in medical laboratories and as an industrial fungicide. It can also be released by burning wood, kerosene, natural gas or cigarettes and may occur in automobile emissions. The institute’s website states that formaldehyde is classified as a “probable human carcinogen” by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

As for 1,4-dioxane, the US Food and Drug Administration says that it “has not established or recommended a specific limit on the level of 1,4-dioxane in cosmetics.” The US Department of Health and Human Services “considers 1,4-dioxane as reasonably anticipated to be a human carcinogen.”

The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics report said 17 of the products tested contained both formaldehyde and 1,4-dioxane. Two samples of Johnson’s Baby Shampoo were tested and both contained formaldehyde at 200 parts per million (ppm) and 210 ppm, respectively. One was also found to contain 1,4 dioxane at 1.1 ppm, it said.

Twenty-three of the 28 products tested contained formaldehyde at levels ranging from 54 to 610 ppm.

In an e-mail statement to Xinhua Tuesday, Johnson & Johnson said: “The trace levels of certain compounds found by the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics can result from processes that make our products gentle for babies and safe from bacteria growth … and all our products meet or exceed the regulatory requirements in every country where they are sold.”

It also said: “We want to reassure parents that Johnson’s Baby Shampoo and all our baby and kids’ products are safe, gentle and mild products that they can trust and use with confidence.”

The Personal Care Product Council, a US industry association, said, “The levels of the two chemicals the group reportedly found are considered to be ‘trace’ or extremely low, are well below established regulatory limits or safety thresholds, and are not a cause for health concern.”

Nonetheless, the news aroused anxiety among parents in China, where Johnson & Johnson has introduced a range of baby products, including baby shampoo, lotion, moisturizer and skin wipes.

The tests followed a widely publicized claim by a woman in Chengdu that her 1-year-old baby developed a rash after exposure to Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Bedtime Oil.

Johnson & Johnson has said that this case was similar to an allergy and resulted from “the difference between individual constitutions but not [a] quality problem”. The company paid 637.81 yuan (US$93.4) to cover the baby’s medical fees.

An on-line survey by www.ifeng.com found that, as of Monday, 40 percent of the 10,221 respondents had used or were using Johnson & Johnson baby products.

Some 69.4 percent said they would not now buy Johnson & Johnson baby products and 65.6 percent said they believed the products contained toxic ingredients.

As of Monday, more than 16,000 people responded to an on-line survey at www.sina.com.cn asking whether they trusted baby products made by Johnson & Johnson. More than half of the respondents said they would not buy Johnson & Johnson baby products.

According to media reports, China’s quality supervisor, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, has started checking the products.

However, the administration refused to comment on the issue.
